It's Official: A Han Solo Spin-Off!

It’s official: Filming for the Han Solo-centered Star Wars spin-off has begun!

The film’s co-director, Chris Miller, tweeted this out earlier this morning:

The tweet reads “Han First Shot”, a reference to the infamous scene in the original trilogy featuring Han. The clapperboard he’s holding also features the working title “Red Cup”, which probably won’t stick as the name of the film, but does the job for now.

According to The Independent, the film will star Alden Ehrenreich from “Hail! Caesar” as the young Han Solo while Donald Glover of “Atlanta” and “Community fame will play Lando Calrissian. Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke have also joined the cast.

The film is scheduled to be released on May 25, 2018.
