Super Bowl Opening Night Kicks Off Week Of Hype In Houston

January 31, 2017

Super Bowl week is in full swing.  The festivities began with Super Bowl Opening Night in Houston.  Players and coaches from the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots met with reporters at Minute Maid Park, home to Major League Baseball's Astros.  It's the second straight year the NFL has turned what used to be Tuesday's Media Day into a Monday night prime time event.

The Falcons and Patriots will square off in Super Bowl 51 this Sunday at Houston's NRG Stadium.  It's the ninth appearance for the Patriots, including the seventh with head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady.  New England is 4-and-4 all-time, but 4-and-2 under Belichick and Brady.  Atlanta lost its only previous Super Bowl appearance to Denver in January 1999.
