Anna Nicole Smith Died A Decade Ago In South Florida

Ten years ago on February 8, 2007, former "Playboy" Playmate Anna Nicole Smith died right here in South Florida.

Allison Kauffman of Davie, remembers what it was like to hear the celebrity died after collapsing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

"It was tragic, it was upsetting.  A lot of people were very upset by it and very shocked.  It was very close to home," said Kauffman.

Anna Nicole died of an overdose in Room 607 at the Hard Rock resort.  She died just five months after the birth of daughter, Dannielynn and the drug overdose death of her 20-year-old son, Daniel.  Anna Nicole was only 39.
