Chance The Rapper & Ex Girlfriend Head To Court For Custody Of Their Baby

Just a couple of days before he performs at the 2017 Grammys, Chance The Rapper headed to court to settle his custody case for his 1-year-old daughter, Kensli, that he has with his ex-girlfriend.

The rapper and his former lover, Kristen Corley, have lived together for two years. However, they're now “in the process of establishing separate residences” since they've decided to part ways.

In court docs, Chance's attorneys are asking the judge presiding over the case to “set a child support award below statutory guidelines.”  They also add that “while courts are careful not to limit the amount of child support to the child’s ‘shown needs’ because a child is not expected to live at a minimal level of comfort while the noncustodial parent is living a life of luxury… courts have recognized that ‘a large income does not necessarily trigger an extravagant lifestyle.'”

The 23-year-old MC also wants his ex to provide for their daughter financially, too. His paperwork says that she's “capable of full-time employment in several capacities.”

Hopefully, the two can work things about as smoothly as possible for the benefit of their adorable baby girl.

My old lady.
