Orange Alligator Spotted in South Carolina

So, there's an orange alligator at the pond in front of our neighborhood...You don't see that everyday. :)

Laura Carson saw quite a sight this week when she spotted an alligator in her South Carolina neighborhood, but it wasn't just any gator - it was an orange alligator.

Experts aren't exactly sure how the reptile got it's strange color. Some think it's from algae or a high iron content in a local pond, while others suspect it's tied to wherever the gator has been spending its winter months. If he's living in a steel culvert pipe, it might be discolored by rust.   

Locals don't seem too worried about the 5-foot long animal, they've already given it a couple nicknames: "Trump-a-gator" and "Rusty."
