Nicky Jam Talks Fenix, His Recent Wedding, and Vin Diesel

Nicky Jam released his first album in ten years last month and he stopped by the studio to tell Lulu y Lala all about it. Fénix is a monster album boasting 26 tracks, as well as Nicky Jam's impressive collaborations with artists such as Daddy Yankee, Sean Paul, and Enrique Iglesias. Jam revealed that it took him almost three years of hard work to complete Fénix. "I wanted to do something special. My manager told me I was crazy because I had almost two albums. It wasn't [good] business to give two albums in one to the record label," Jam said of his decision to release 25 tracks at once. "I don't care about business. Forget about the corporate stuff. I need to give the people a classic album."

After a decade out of the spotlight, Jam admits his career can get a little hectic as he reemerges as one of reggaeton's best artists. He recently got married to his longtime girlfriend, though, and says that having a wife by his side helps him manage all the craziness surrounding him. "I feel gifted," he said of his new bride. "She says that she's lucky, but I feel like the lucky one."

Jam also spoke of his close bond with Vin Diesel, as well as commenting on the rumors that the two of them are working on music together. Jam revealed that they're working on a song that might work for the next installment of of the Fast and the Furious Franchise. It's not surprising that Jam would contribute to the soundtrack, especially considering his friendship with Diesel, but he said Diesel might take the reigns on the hook of the song. They're still working on the song, though, so it will probably be awhile before we get to hear Diesel's vocal chops.

It looks like 2017 is going to be just as big (if not bigger) as 2016 for Nicky Jam. He's been awarded 9 Latin Billboard Award nominations , so it's safe to say the year is already off to an amazing start. We're excited to see what he has in store for us. Maybe we'll see him at the Oscars next year...
