Harrison Ford narrowly avoided a serious disaster when he almost crashed his private plane into a passenger jet filled with people. According to NBC News, the Star Wars actor landed his plane on a taxiway, instead of the runway. As he was landing, he flew right over "an American Airlines 737 loaded with 110 passengers and a six-person crew."
The potentially deadly mix-up is being investigated by the FAA. Landing on a taxiway, instead of the runway is a violation of FAA safety rules. Air traffic controllers said they gave Ford the correct landing instructions, and that he read the instructions back to them. Luckily, nobody was hurt, and the American Airlines flight was able to depart a few minutes later.
