Twenty One Pilots Win Huge At #iHeartAwards

Twenty One Pilots will forever remember the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards because it was an epic night for the duo.  

The group not only won Alternative Rock Song of the Year for "Heathens" and Alternative Rock Album of the Year for Blurryface, but they also walked off with the Alternative Rock Artist of the Year trophy. That's not all though - they were also honored with the award for Best Duo/Group of the Year, beating out the likes of Coldplay, DNCE, Florida Georgia Line and The Chainsmokers. 

Twenty One Pilots weren't the only rockers to win at the awards show - Disturbed took home Rock Artist of the Year, Metallica won Rock Album of the Year for Hardwired... to Self-Destruct and Green Day overcame stiff competition like Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Pretty Reckless, Volbeat and Disturbed to win Rock Song of the Year for "Bang Bang." 

Fans of Pierce the Veil flocked to iHeartRadio's polls to make sure the band took home the award for Best Underground Alternative Band, a category voted on by the listeners. It was a tough race but they beat out the synth-fueled sisters of Hey Violet, PVRIS’s melancholy anthems, Sleeping With Sirens’ breakneck songs and Tonight Alive’s introspective pop rock. 

The Strumbellas also left the awards happy - the Canadian indie rockers were recognized as the Best New Rock/Alternative Rock Artist.
