Migos' Quavo Says He Can't Be Homophobic Because He Has A Song With Frank Ocean

Despite their reign over 2017 (so far) with hit single "Bad and Boujee" and the rave reviews for the accompanying album, C U L T U R E, Migos turned heads when they made seemingly homophobic remarks about iLoveMakonnen's sexuality in a recent Rolling Stone interview.
However, Quavo has tried to clear up the implication about his views on free love in a new Billboard profile, which was released on Thursday (March 9).
In the feature, writer Chris Martins spoke to the rapper about the controversial comments, where he insisted that love goes far and beyond the traditional pairing of man and woman. "If you real from the heart, you real from the heart," he explained. "That ain’t got nothing to do with no sex or gender. It’s 2017, and we all living."
It was a blanket statement that deserves some recognition, but transitioned into talk about the correlation between iLoveMakonnen and his lyrics, which might not be as convincing as the 25-year-old thinks it is. "When [Makonnen's] music came out, I thought it was hard, so if he would've come out the same way...." he paused. "I got a record with Frank Ocean ['Slide,' a Calvin Harris track featuring Migos and Ocean]. That closes my case."
His pause is probably the most noteworthy bit out of the entire quote, but there you go, folks. Quavo has gay friends, so must not be homophobic. On that note, I'm going to go back to listening to "Slide."
