Tinashe Goes Sugary Sweet Pop On New Single 'Flame' (LISTEN)

March 16, 2017

As her sophomore effort, Joyride, still awaits an official release date, Tinashe is moving forward with another single called "Flame" to jumpstart the project.

Trading in her urban sensibility, the budding starlet goes full-throttle pop with her new song, which was released on Thursday (March 16) and sees production from Stargate and BloodPop. On the three-minute mid-tempo cut, Tinashe hits sugary sweet territory as she sings about a relationship that might be coming to a close soon. "Tell me that you still got the flame for me/ And we can let it burn," she sings during the perky pop hook.

In an interview with Rap-Up, Tinashe spoke about her heavily delayed LP. "It's going to come out when it comes out," the 24-year-old said. "I'm just excited to continue to release new material. I have a lot of new music and I’m really excited about that. It’s all good things."

Joyride is set to include collaborations from Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, Sir Nolan, Charlie Handsome, Metro Boomin and Boi-1da.

In promotion for "Flame," Tinashe took to New York City streets on a fire truck and made a stop outside of iHeartRadio HQ in Tribeca. Take a look at photos below!
