Bulls' Lopez, Raptors' Ibaka Ejected After Scuffle

March 22, 2017

Fines and suspensions are likely coming after a skirmish broke out between the Bulls and Raptors in Toronto.  It happened with just under four minutes left in the third quarter of Tuesday's game when Raptors center Serge Ibaka and Bulls big man Robin Lopez got into an altercation.

Ibaka gave Lopez a little shoulder check in the back after a made basket.  Lopez took exception and tried to forcefully swat the ball out of Ibaka's hands.  Ibaka then shoved Lopez, who took a swing at Ibaka.  Other players, officials and coaches intervened to break up the scuffle.  Both players were ejected.

The fight fired up the Raptors who overcame a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter and pulled out a 122-120 overtime win.  DeMar DeRozan had 42 points for Toronto, which had lost its last 11 meetings with Chicago dating back to December 2013.  Jimmy Butler scored 37 points for the Bulls, who have lost eight of their last 10 games.
