North Carolina Wins NCAA National Championship

April 4, 2017

#1 ranked North Carolina edged out Gonzaga 71-65 to win the 2017 NCAA National Championship. The Tar Heels redeemed themselves after losing at the buzzer to Villanova in last year's National Championship game. It looked like the game would be decided by the last shot until the final seconds when UNC pulled away.

Joel Berry II led the Tar Heels with 22-points, becoming the first player since Bill Walton to score 20-points in back-to-back title games.  Nigel Williams-Goss scored 15 points and had 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the Bulldogs.
