Congressman Brian Mast: People Should Call Congress "Failures" If Tax Reform Is Not Done This Year

Will the government shut down at midnight?
Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast Congressman Brian Mast joined the Morning Rush on WNJO.
The Republican says even if no deal is reached by Friday night, nothing truly shuts down.
"No. No. Absolutely not. I by any means whatsoever, haven't heard any talk whatsoever beyond what happens in the media, because the media likes to speculate different things because it's a 24 hour media cycle."
Mast says he likes what he has seen so far in President Trump's plan for tax reform
"This is a great blueprint to say 'We're not going to ask the American people to do more with less. We're going to ask the federal government to do more with less' hopefully, and that has to be the right direction."
We asked Mast if tax reform gets done before 2017 is over.
"There is no way in the world we don't get through tax reform this year. And if we do, people should point to every one of us up here and say 'You are failures.' If we don't get that done, people should absolutely point to us and say 'You failed!' "
