Zac Brown Band released their new album Welcome Home on May 12th and celebrated by sharing their new music live during their iHeartCountry Album Release Party -- an intimate concert for fans at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City.

Welcome Home is Zac Brown Band's seventh studio album, and is their first release on Southern Ground/Elektra Records. The new album was produced by Grammy-Award winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell) and The Arena Productions, and was recorded at Southern Ground Nashville studio. The new album follows their 2015 record Jekyll + Hyde and features ten new songs, including singles like "My Old Man" and "Family Table."

During their iHeartCountry Album Release Party, Zac Brown Band -- in a packed out room of fans from wall to wall -- performed much of their new album live, playing seven out of ten songs on the record. They gave fans a taste of "Family Table," "Roots," "My Old Man," "Long Haul," "Real Thing," "Your Majesty," and "2 Places At 1 Time," which Zac told the crowd is his favorite from Welcome Home.

In fact, he said in a recent interview with iHeartRadio of the song, "That one just cuts me to the bone because it's about the struggle of being away from my family, and then the struggle of being away from the music. And I love both, I'm torn between the two of them. If I could just tear myself in half and be in both places at one time, then I could have some peace with all of it."

The band also performed some ZBB favorites including "Homegrown," "Keep Me In Mind," "Cold Weather," and (of course) "Chicken Fried." And if you've ever been to a Zac Brown Band show before, then you've probably seen some epic covers -- and their iHeartCountry Album Release Party was no exception. The guys ended the show with an incredible cover of The Allman Brothers Band's "Whipping Post."

Zac Brown also opened up about Welcome Home during a special Q&A portion of the concert, hosted by Bobby Bones. Check out what we learned below:

The band had seven days to record Welcome Home, and they did it in six.

"We had seven days in the studio set aside. We could have came back if we hadn't have everything ready, but I felt pretty good about it. Everybody in the band, all these guys, it's an honor to play with all of them. They're all superior musicians. They can make something sound pretty good really fast. So it all came together."

During their upcoming live shows, they are playing their entire Welcome Home album (and four new covers!).

"We're playing all of it. I think we played all but one song this past weekend. We're playing four new covers, and then some of the old songs too. So all of the arrangements everything, just remembering everything is a lot."

Before recording Welcome Home, the band spent some Alaska, which ended up being very inspiring.

"I got a feeling in my chest that I've never had anywhere else I've ever been. It's just stunning. I don't know what it is, but there's an energy there that I've never been around before. It's such a different place too to be to write, and it was nice being kind of in isolation and just in such natural beauty. It was inspiring in a whole different way than other places we've been."
