Two days after Donald Trump won the presidency, Dave Chappelle hosted "Saturday Night Live" and said that we should all give the new prez a chance. Now, he regrets these words.
Chappelle told the "SNL" audience: “I’m wishing Donald Trump luck. And I’m going to give him a chance. And we the historically disenfranchised demand that he gives us one too.” But last night (May 15) during his set at New York’s Robin Hood gala, the comedian backpedalled and said that he messed up by saying this.
Today show's Willie Geist was at the show. He tweeted about the moment Chappelle said, "I was the first guy on TV to say 'Give Trump a chance.' I f**ked up. Sorry." Read the journalist's two tweets about Chappelle's apology below.
