Charges Dropped Against Stanley Cup Catfish-Tosser

May 31, 2017

Charges against the Nashville Predators fan who threw a catfish onto the ice during Game One of the Stanley Cup final have now been dropped.  Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala says the accusations against 36-year-old Jacob Waddell do not rise to the level of criminal charges.

Waddell smuggled the catfish into PPG Paints Arena for Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals, hiding it in his pants. He then chucked the fish onto the ice during the first period.  Waddell was kicked out of the arena shortly after that.

The Penguins and Predators clash in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final tonight in Pittsburgh.  The Pens took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series with a 5-3 victory in Sunday's opener.
