One Love Manchester: Ariana Grande Gets Emotional Singing With Manchester High School Choir

June 4, 2017

Emotions were at an all-time high when Ariana Grande teamed up with a Manchester high school for a collaborative performance of "My Everything" during One Love Manchester, the star's memorial concert on Sunday (June 4) in honor of those lost during the May terror attack.

Despite earlier collaborations with her "Dangerous Woman Tour" opening act Victoria Monét and the Black Eyed Peas, it was the singer's team-up with the Parrs Wood High School Choir that had everyone in tears. For their collaborative performance of the track, the star helped carry the ballad alongside a young girl, who kicked off the number. At one point, emotions started to overcome the student, to which Ari pulled her close, comforted her and held back her own tears.

“Obviously, they've struggled and that was one of the massive reasons why we really wanted to do something as well — to actually support the people we knew personally affected by it," Parrs Wood High School choir's musical director, Daniel McDwyer, told EW prior to the Sunday performance. "So it is going to be really difficult for them to do. They are amazing though. Everyone in the choir. I can’t stress how proud we all are of them because they’ve just been so professional the whole time. They got together and they just wanted to do something.”
