INTERVIEW: Fifth Harmony Talks Summer Memories & Favorites

The ladies of Fifth Harmony are having a fantastic summer so far. The group just released their new single "Down" -- their first as a foursome -- and its music video. The girls are also working on their third full-length studio album, the follow up to 2016's 7/27, and are really kicking of the season right by performing during iHeartSummer '17 Weekend by AT&T at Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
To get into the summer spirit, we caught up with Ally, Lauren, Normani, and Dinah about their favorite summer memories, favorite things to do during summer, and more. Call it your "Fifth Harmony Guide to Having a 'Down' Summer' (see what we did there 😎).
Ally's Favorite Summer Memory:
"One of my greatest summers ever was the summer of 2015. I really found myself during that time and I went through so much that summer. I will never forget it for the rest of my life, but ironically, funnily enough, it was one of the most beautiful times for me, because finding yourself and finding what you want is really, really just amazing. I had a lot of emotions at that time, but I really stepped into who I was as a woman, and I'll never forget that time in my entire life."
The Moment It Feels Like Summer to Dinah:
"On my birthday, because I'm a summer baby, so I would say on June 22nd is when I feel like it's summertime."
Lauren's Wildest Summer Memory:
"My wildest summer memory is definitely my 19th birthday party at my house with my family and friends."
Normani's Favorite Thing About Performing At A Pool Party:
"My favorite thing about performing at a pool party is just the change in environment. Typically, we play our concerts inside of venues, which I guess can get a little monotonous. So it's really refreshing to be outdoors and see everybody vibing in their swim suits. And I love the pool, so ..."
How Ally Stays Cool During The Summer:
"I stay cool during the summer by hitting the water whenever I can. I love, love, love to go to the beach. I love to go to the pool. Those are actually some of my favorite places to be ever, during the summer. And I love me some Vegas, I have to go. I have spent two of my birthdays there. My 21st, my 22nd, and I love to go every chance that I get. It's so much fun just being in the sun, tanning ... having a good time with my friends is the best."
What Lauren Says About Fans Who Come To See Them Perform During The Summer:
"I think what fans love most about coming to see us during the summer is the fact that they don't have to come from school, or have school the next day. It's just chill summer vibes."
Which Summer Song Dinah Says Harmonizers Respond To The Most:
"The summer song that our fans have responded to the most would definitely have to be 'All in My Head (Flex).' It just has the feel good, outdoor summer vibes, and it just definitely is a song that you could vibe to, especially at a pool party."
How Summer Shows Bring 5H Closer To Their Fans, According To Normani:
"Summer shows definitely bring us closer to our fans just because I feel that everybody's not given the opportunity, especially when they're in school, or whether people have work. I think that there's just more leeway and free time for them to actually be able to get out and enjoy. We just jam out."
