The investigation has been closed, the files have been handed over to the State Attorney's Office, and the waiting game has commenced. In the meantime, former UM and NFL football star and Hall-Of-Famer is coming forward to deny allegations that he drugged and raped a woman.

Irvin, 51, has proclaimed innocence since being accused of drugging and raping a 27-year-old woman at the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale in March. Irvin, along with his attorney Kenneth Padowitz, say Irvin considers the alleged victim "family."

The football great admits to knowing the woman, and even says that they are longtime friends. However, he denounces any and all of the charges against him.

Irvin claims that authorities informed his legal team that the rape kit in his sexual assault investigation came back negative. He believes that the State Attorney's Office has had all evidence since April and thinks enough is enough.
