Paige Franks was horrified when she delivered her daughter Mila and noticed a strange round bump on her neck. It was growing larger by the day.
Paige, 21, watched the lump grow to the size of a tennis ball, 9 centimeters in circumference. It got so large that it was virtually the size of the infant’s head. Paige’s friends remarked it “could have been a twin.”
The young mother feared Mila had cancer and was all but convinced herself her baby was terminal.
But doctors were on the case, and they soon discovered that Mila did not have cancer. Her “birthmark” was the result of congenital hemangioma, which is a collection of small blood vessels under the skin.
Paige was so relieved, but she became obsessed with measuring the birthmark as it grew. When going out in public, she would wrap Mila in cotton wool. She was hesitant to let anyone touch Mila; she feared the lump would rupture.
But three months later, something miraculous started to happen.
