The wait is finally over and we now know who the best female hip hop artist of the year is...according to BET, that is: Remy Ma!!!

For the past couple of months now, Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma have been in one of the hottest, most savage rap beefs in recent history. It all started when Minaj kept throwing subliminal shade at Remy in a number of singles. Eventually, Remy had enough and blasted the top Barb with the epic diss track "ShETHER."

According to many hip hop fans, Remy killed Minaj with this blow. The Young Money rapper eventually tried to come back with "No Frauds," as well as a few other subliminal messages on other songs. But, the damage was already done. In the hip hop world, Remy reigned supreme in this feud.

Tonight (June 25) at the 2017 BET Awards, everyone was waiting to see which New York rapper was going to take home the Best Female Hip Hop Artist trophy because of this words of bars that has been happening between the two recently. Minaj even made people give her a slight side-eye when we learned that she wouldn't be attending the music celebration.

Thankfully, the wait is over. Remy has defeated Minaj in the category. During Remy's acceptance speech, the Bronx rapper threw shade at the Queens rapper. "Are you dumb?" she asked in the same tone she dissed the top Barb in on "ShETHER."
