Scotty McCreery Shares The Story Behind 'Five More Minutes' (VIDEO)

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Scotty McCreery and get the story behind his emotional new single "Five More Minutes."

He wrote the song a few years ago just after he lost his grandfather. During the writing session he was heavy on his heart and talking about him, when one of the co-writers threw out the idea around; wish you had five more minutes with him. They took the idea from there and the rest is history.

Scotty said, "We knew we had something special, we all just looked at each other like - we just wrote a pretty good one."

After listening back to the song Scotty tweeted that he had just wrote his favorite song he's ever written. The fans seem to agree as he reflects on the reaction that the fans have had to the single. Saying in his six years, he's never had a song get this kind of response. Everyone is telling him their stories  of who they wish they had five more minutes with.
