Chance the Rapper Is Nominated For An Emmy

This year, Chance The Rapper conquered the Grammy Awards (taking home 3 Grammys), and is now setting his sights on the Emmy Awards! The Chicago rapper has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for his contribution for "Last Christmas," featured during "Jingle Barack" sketch on Saturday Night Live.
"Last Christmas" was co-written by Chance and SNL's Kenan Thompson, Will Stephen and music from the sketch comedy show's own musical director Eli Brueggemann.
Chance celebrated his Emmy nomination by writing on Twitter, "MAMA I GOT NOMINATED FOR A EMMY THANK YOU SNL." And later on added, "One more time SO GRATEFUL FOR KENAN THOMPSON HE IS A LEGEND IN COMEDY AND OF COURSE SNL THANK YOU BIG BRO LOVE YOU AND THE WHOLE CAST."

The rapper also revealed that a year ago, he "secretly" had submitted a different song for Emmy consideration for Original Music and Lyrics. The submission was for his 2016 ESPY Awards performance, debuting a new song in tribute to Muhammad Ali.
