Netflix is the new stand-up comic kingmaker, Forbes reports. In its list of the world's 10 highest-paid comedians, the top seven all had deals for specials with the streaming service. In fact, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Dave Chapelle had deals with Netflix for multiple specials at $20 million each. The comedians taking the final three spots on the list made their millions through relentless gigging, performing dozens upon dozens of shows between June 2016 and June 2017. Here are the 10 highest-paid comedians in the world:
- Jerry Seinfeld: $69 million
- Chris Rock: $57 million
- Louis CK: $52 million
- Dave Chapelle: $47 million
- Amy Schumer: $37.5 million
- Kevin Hart: $32.5 million
- Jim Gaffigan: $30.5 million
- Terry Fator: $18.5 million
- Jeff Dunham: $15.5 million
- Sebastian Maniscalco: $15 million
