Eminem's Manager Paul Rosenberg Named New CEO Of Def Jam

Eminem's longtime producer Paul Rosenberg has been named the new CEO of Def Jam, Variety is reporting. 

According to the news outlet, Rosenberg will be assuming his top level position in January 2018. He'll be replacing Steve Bartels, who's been leading the music company since 2013. There's no word yet on whether or not Bartels will remain with Def Jam once Rosenberg comes onboard. Rosenberg will also continue to manage Eminem after he starts his new job.

A co-founder of Shady Records and CEO of Goliath Artist Management, Rosenberg has been a vital part of the music business for many years. He's helped launch the careers of not only Slim Shady, but 50 Cent, D12, Danny Brown, Action Bronson and many more. 

Def Jam was founded in 1983 by Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin. The iconic label gave us music from legends like LL Cool J in its early days and would grow to add superstars Rihanna, Kanye West, Mariah Carey and more to its roster. A source told Variety about Rosenberg joining the team, “He’s super smart and will steer the company in the right direction.” Here's to more massive successes coming Def Jam's way.
