Jez Dior Takes A Trip Down The Rabbit Hole In 'Sober' Video

By James Dinh

August 3, 2017

Jez Dior cements the release of his new single, "Sober," with a manic music video for the grunge-rap track, which dropped on Thursday (August 3).

In the almost four-minute clip, which saw direction by Shane Drake, viewers see the budding rapper take a trip to the desert in an empty truck, before falling down the rabbit hole of his previous night shenanigans. It all begins when he hops out of the vehicle and enters a tepee, which leads him into a busted apartment with broken glass, dim lighting, and even a melting clock. From there, it's chaos as the rapper lets loose some reckless behavior and trashes the crib. But much to the song's concept, his wish for sobriety arrives when he escapes the mad scene, sets the tepee on fire and hops in the driver's seat for a ride away from it all.

"You got me off track like a f**kin' roller coaster/ Ain’t no turning back got me wishing I was sober/ I'm tired of feeling this way now/ For now I'm just riding this wave down," he confesses during the pre-hook.

"We really tried to portray the meaning of the song through our visuals. Shane, whom I've known for many years did an amazing job showcasing the way I felt when my life was spiraling out of control when I first moved to Hollywood," the Los Angeles-based MC told Complex. "The shoot was one of the tougher ones, as it was around 117 degrees the whole time, but I love how it turned out, so it was all worth it."
