YouTube Appears to Be on a Crusade to Blacklist Conservative and Independent Opinions

Google and YouTube’s crusade to censor conservative content has content creators worried and at a serious disadvantage. YouTube has begun demonetizing accounts held by conservatives and independents, essentially prohibiting their ability to earn a living online. The reasoning: the accounts have been flagged by YouTube as “controversial, religious and supremacist” as of August.

Many conservative commentators believe they’ve been placed on a blacklist policed by volunteer “experts” at YouTube, which is impeding not only their ability to earn a living but also to speak their minds freely and openly.

Independent journalist Luke Rudkowski said hundreds of his videos were demonetized on YouTube in a single day.

Rudkowski told the Daily Caller, “Having had 660 of my videos demonetized in one day left me a little stunned since this is the core for my income but left me with the impression that this was done on purpose.”

The new “tougher standards” essentially block videos YouTube deems inappropriate from recommended videos, which ultimately prevents the content from ever being found by YouTube viewers online.

Today on Think Tank, the panel discussed the serious implications of online censorship by the largest purveyors of information.
