Channing Tatum Recalls Cruel Proposal Prank He Pulled

HORRIFYING! Channing Tatum pulled a cruel prank on his now wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum, prior to popping the question to her. 

"When I proposed to my wife I did something pretty cruel because I thought she was on to me,” Tatum told Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday, August 23. “I basically told her I never wanted to get married to try to throw her off. I told her, ‘I don’t believe in the institution of marriage and I don’t think I ever want to get married.’ She basically broke down crying.”

Jenna’s totally valid reaction caused Tatum to realize that his joke had gone too far.

“I thought, ‘This is not going well at all,’ so I had to propose to her sooner rather than later,” he added.

The duo (thankfully) got engaged shortly after and tied the knot in 2009.
