Find Out How A Coffee Cup Saved A Drivers Life After Windshield Was Smashed

When I’m driving down the highway, I go out of my way to avoid open-back trucks carrying things like lumber. I’m always afraid one will come loose, fall off the truck, and land right on the hood of my car.
I’ve heard about that happening, but for one man in Akron, Ohio, something even scarier happened.
Bob Formoso, 46, was driving his car down the I-76 highway when something came out of nowhere and smashed through his windshield.
It turned out to be a pry bar.
As the bar smashed through his window, Bob thought he was being shot. He said it sounded “like an explosion went off in the car.” The pry bar was flying full speed ahead at Bob’s chest. But something unusual saved his life.
Bob said he was taking a sip of his morning coffee at that exact moment. Because his arm was up, bringing the drink to his mouth, Bob’s chest was protected. If he hadn’t been sipping his coffee, he believes the bar would have hit him right in the chest — and killed him.
Bob still has no idea where the pry bar came from. He didn’t see any construction sites nearby.
