Old Dominion Rocks LA At iHeartCountry Album Release Party

August 26, 2017

Old Dominion took over the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles for an iHeartCountry Album Release Party, to celebrate their new album Happy Endings.

Happy Endings is Old Dominion's second studio album, and follows their 2015 debut record Meat and Candy. The new record features 12 new songs including their single "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart," along with previously released promo singles like "Written in the Sand," "Shoe Shopping," and "Be With Me." The album also includes a collaboration with Little Big Town called "Stars in the City."

When asked what they wanted this album to do, lead singer Matt Ramsey told CMT After MidNite's Cody Alan, “We just wanted to show how much we’ve grown. We’ve been on the road for years, and since Meat and Candy came out we’ve written a lot of songs, played a lot of shows, and grown as writers.”

During the performance the band played their current single "No Such Thing As A Broken Heart," and revealed why they decided to make it the first single off the album. "The next thing we wanted to do was show a little big more of a bigger message and show we were a little more than 'Hey girl what’s up.' This one seemed to have a little more of a deeper message to it and it also still sounded like us. It just felt like the next step for us."

The crowd was treated with songs both old and new. From hit songs like "Song For Another Time," "Break Up With Him," and "Snapback" to new songs never heard before. For an hour the band had the entire crowd singing along with them.
