Skylar Bantz and Adeline Vela, first year students at Texas State University, transformed their 16 x 16 foot dorm room into a luxe, stunning space. According to Facebook, the roomies completed the transformation in 10 hours with the help of friends and family.
They swapped their Sterry Hall chairs with chic acrylic ones and raised their beds to provide an office / entertainment space underneath. They also added a faux brick wall and cozy-looking rug and sheer curtains.
"All of her friends are super-excited about it as well as her dorm neighbors, but most of all the two girls just really wanted a space that was comfortable and felt like a home away from home," Sheila Ybarra, Skylar's mom, told Refinery29. "A dorm makeover can really change your mindset for college and being away from home."
To make it happen, her mom and her roommate’s parents came up with the budget.
"We are pretty budget-friendly, so most of the items we got were from Ikea, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Amazon," she said.
The cost though? A whopping $2,400 to be exact.
A+ for interior design, ladies.
