Lorde Gets Real About Breakups: ‘Just [Cut] It Off’

Lorde isn’t one to stay close with her exes. The “Green Light” singer phoned in to On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Monday, August 28, and spoke candidly about her split from ex James Lowe. 

“I’m a big believer in just cutting it off,” Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, shared. “If you called me in an emergency, I would help you, but I don’t need to do the maintenance coffees. I don’t need to do the maintenance dinners.”

While joking about the idea of having a dinner party with all your exes, Lorde was quick to veto the idea. 

"I think the dinner party sounds like a death wish,” she joked. 

The songstress, who performed at the 2017 MTV VMAs on Sunday despite battling the flu, is next set to perform a secret show for fans in Los Angeles.
