Dustin Lynch Brings His 'Current Mood' To iHeartCountry Album Release Party

September 8, 2017

Dustin Lynch rocked the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City for an iHeartCountry Album Release Party, to celebrate his new album Current Mood.

Current Mood is Dustin's third studio album, and follows his 2014 record Where It's At. The new record features 13 new songs including two already number-one singles "Seein' Red," and "Small Town Boy," along with the previously released track "Love Me Or Leave Me Alone," which features vocals from Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild.

When asked about why he named the album Current Mood, Dustin told iHeartRadio’s Bobby Bones, “I had probably 100 working titles at one point, and it took me about 3 weeks to narrow it down to four. I realized that all 13 of these songs are situations I’ve been in, relationships I’ve been in, adventures I’ve been on, or parties I’ve had. It’s currently made me who I am as a person, so Current Mood was the one."

During the performance the Dustin played fan favorite "Love Me Or Leave Me Alone," and revealed that the first time he ever played the song was actually on Luke Bryan's bus. Little Big Town was on the bus as well, and everyone wanted him to play the song again. "It was so cool to get a thumbs up from people I look up to as artists. A day or two later Karen (from Little Big Town) was still bugging me about the song, and said that if anyone sings on that song besides me - I'm going to kill you. She got her way."

The crowd was treated with songs both old and new. From hit songs like "Seein' Red," "Where It's At," and "Small Town Boy" to new songs never heard before. He closed the night out with a cover from Sugar Ray, by singing "When It's Over." For an hour Dustin had the entire crowd singing along with him.
