A Colorado Springs Officer was on the way to a serious injury accident when a raccoon jumped onto the windshield, hoping to join the ride.

Officer Christopher Frabbiele slowed down and safely pulled over before snapping some pictures and posting them on social media, police spokesman Lt. Howard Black said. The raccoon hopped off shortly after, unharmed.

Raccoons are normal in Colorado Springs, but usually not on the hood of your car mid-drive.

A few social media commenters wondered if the officer took pictures of the animal while driving. But, the official twitter page for the Colorado Springs Police Department mentioned in the post that Frabbiele did pull over before documenting the raccoon encounter.

The police department also said he was "pawsitively surprised."
