Snake bites can be tricky to treat if they’re poisonous: you only have a little time to administer an anti-venom, and in that case, you need to know what kind of snake you’re dealing with.

Luckily, none of that is too hard thanks to emergency services and how quick response time is in this country.

So when a Virginia woman got bitten by a copperhead, she needed assistance as soon as possible.

Single mom Rachel Myrick was walking through the vestibule of a Longhorn Steakhouse when she felt a sharp pain on her foot. At first, she thought that a bee had stung her.

Then she looked down and realized that it was no bee, but a copperhead snake, which had bitten her three times on the same foot.

The snake was promptly killed and 911 was called. Luckily, Rachel arrived at the ER in time to save her life, though recovery will take a while. With all the bruising, swelling, and pain, Rachel’s life has come to a standstill.

Longhorn Steakhouse is treating the incident seriously and is looking into how the snake managed to slip into the vestibule of the restaurant.

If you reside in areas where you know snakes like copperheads live, be sure to watch where you’re stepping!

Please SHARE if you’re glad this woman survived her injuries!
