Pitbull went above and beyond to help the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, who are still suffering without electricity, particularly a group of cancer patients.
On Tuesday (September 26), the New York Daily News reported that Pitbull sent his private plane to PR to retrieve cancer patients and bring them to the United States, so they can receive treatment. Puerto Rico Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González, who also represents PR in Congress, took to Twitter to thank the rapper for his contributions, writing, "Thank you @pitbull for lending your private plane to move cancer patients from PR to USA so that they can get chemo."
However, Pitbull isn't looking for any praise for his deed, as per his statement to the NYDN. "Thank God we're blessed to help. Just doing my part," he told the newspaper.
Pitbull is no stranger to charity work. Back in 2013, he opened a public charter school named The Sports Leadership And Management Academy in his hometown of Miami. He plans on opening a second school in Baltimore by September 2018.
