INJOThe NFL has seen major backlash after mass national anthem protests last Sunday. Fans are burning jerseys, sponsors are dropping players, and ratings are down. The protest was sparked by President Trump saying the anthem protesters should be fired. Some entire teams sat out the anthem last Sunday as the protests escalated to new levels.

There have been many responses to the outcry. Many Americans on both sides are angry. Now, one of the NFL's biggest and most well-known sponsors, Anheuser-Busch, has weighed in on the controversy.

In an official statement to IJR, Anheuser-Busch said the company supports free speech:

At Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the institutions and values that have made America so strong. That includes our armed forces and the national anthem as well as diversity, equality and freedom of speech.  We proudly employ over 1,100 military veterans and we work every day to create an inclusive environment for all of our employees. Because only together can we achieve our dream of bringing people together for a better world.
