Hillary Clinton returned to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday for the first time since losing the presidential election. She appeared on the program to promote her book, What Happened. Some of the show’s female staffers, as well as Miley Cyrus, also wrote her “Thank You” notes.

For her interview with Fallon, Clinton talked about “what happened” during the presidential election “from my perspective.” She added that her book is also a story of “resilience.” Right away Fallon asked about election night, and Clinton said she had no clue going in to it that she was going to lose. The former presidential candidate said after it appeared early that Donald Trump was going to win Florida and North Carolina, it became “worrying.”

She noted that by the end of election night, “I was devastated.” Fallon asked if she had lost to another Republican, would she have been as disappointed, and she admitted losing to Trump was particularly hurtful because she doesn’t have trust in him as a leader. Of Trump’s handling of the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Clinton said it’s hard to figure out his “priorities.” She took a swipe at the president for “golfing, tweeting, watching cable news” when she felt he should have been sending the Navy to help those suffering in Puerto Rico.

Fallon also asked Clinton what she thought of Alec Baldwin’s impression of Trump. “I think it’s amazing,” said Clinton, who feels the actor has nailed the president’s “expression, the body language… it’s perfect.” The former Democratic presidential nominee also talked about gun control and more. Later, Fallon’s female staffers did “Thank You” notes with Clinton. Cyrus then came out and thanked Clinton, in tears, for being a “constant beacon of hope, strength and determination for me and millions of other young women.”

She added, “You have been a role model and an inspiration and a voice of reason in uncertain times.” Cyrus then hugged Clinton, who asked Fallon if she, too, could write a “Thank You” note. Getting behind the host’s desk, Clinton thanked the female staffers. She said in her note, “You’re deserving of every opportunity” and then quoted Cyrus, “We can’t stop and we won’t stop.”

As Gossip Cop has reported, Clinton made multiple campaign stops on Fallon’s late-night show. She appeared in September 2015, January 2016 and September 2016. During all those interviews, the former First Lady of course thought she was going to become president. Now more than a year after her last visit, Clinton’s reality is very different from what she, and many others, expected. Still, her new appearance mostly had the lighthearted tone Fallon is known for.

Cyrus was on the show as part of “Miley Week On Fallon,” which has the singer appearing on the late-night program every night in support of her new album. Clinton, of course, has been on a media tour to promote her memoir. Last month, Clinton was on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” as well as “The View.” Check out more videos below of Fallon’s interview.
