McCain Speaks Out Against Half-Baked Nationalism

By Hector Gonzales

October 17, 2017

Senator John McCain is taking issue with anyone who would seek to abandon America's leadership around the world.  While accepting the National Constitution Center's Liberty Medal, the Arizona Republican said it is unpatriotic to abandon America's obligation to international leadership for what he called a half-baked, spurious nationalism.  In an emotional speech, McCain noted that after decades of service, he now sees that he's been part of something important.

Former Vice President Joe Biden presented his former Senate colleague with the award for his lifetime of sacrifice and service to the country.
