Implanted Devices Save Lives, Cause Exploding Corpses

October 26, 2017

Pacemakers are miracle devices that keep tens of thousands of people alive.  But after patients die, they become unknown booby traps during cremation.  It's becoming the preferred method option for burial. But when a body contains certain medical device implants and it goes through the blazing hot incineration process, the body may literally go out with a bang.

One study shows that nearly half of crematory staff in the United Kingdom reported a pacemaker explosion in their facility.  Statistics in the U.S. are fewer because it's not good publicity that a loved one was blown up because of an overheated pacemaker.
