Astros rock Yu Darvish, take 2-1 World Series lead
October 28, 2017
After dropping Game 1 of the World Series, the Houston Astros have bounced back in a big way.
Houston took a 2-1 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night, riding a four-run second inning to a 5-3 victory.
Yuli Gurriel got things started for the Astros with a solo shot off Yu Darvish in the bottom of the second, and the team never looked back. Marwin Gonzalez, Brian McCann and Alex Bregman would all proceed to drive in runs, and Darvish exited the game before the end of the inning.
Joc Pederson picked up the Dodgers' first run of the game the following inning, but did so as Corey Seager grounded into a double play. Evan Gattis would extend the Astros lead on an RBI single in the fifth.
The Dodgers started a rally in the top of the sixth, charging Astros starter Lance McCullers with two more earned runs, but Brad Peacock entered the game and delivered 3.2 no-hit innings to close out the victory.
