In a 25-run slugfest that lasted more than five hours, the Houston Astros emerged victorious. In doing so, they moved one win away from the franchise's first-ever World Series championship.
Astros third baseman Alex Bregman ended the back-and-forth contest with an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th, lifting his team to a 13-12 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The win gave Houston a 3-2 lead as the series shifts back to Los Angeles for at least one more game.
The Astros were carried by a dominant performance from the top of their lineup, with the team's 1-5 hitters going 12-of-23 with four home runs, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
Early on, the Dodgers appeared in position to secure a victory and head home with two chances to close out the series. They would light up Astros ace Dallas Keuchel for three runs in the first and another in the fourth, providing Clayton Kershaw with a significant cushion. A four-run fourth inning for Houston, however, changed all of that and set the stage for an instant classic.
First pitch for Game 6 is scheduled for 5:20PM local time (PT).
