THANK YOU: ‘Let There Be Light’ Comes in SECOND in US BOX OFFICE

‘Let There Be Light’ landed in the second-place spot in the United States box office over the weekend, earning an impressive $5,071 per screen with viewings in under 400 theaters across the country; just shy of the Halloween-favorite ‘Saw’ sequel, which took in $5,525 per screen, reports Newsmax. 

According to Variety, the faith-based drama “opened solidly” in the domestic box office, earning nearly $2 million with a limited release engagement. The impressive showing is in stark contrast to the George Clooney directed –and superstar Matt Damon starring- ‘Suburbicon’ which earned just $3.5 million with a wide-scale release.

“Let There Be Light,” starring Kevin Sorbo and executive produced by Sean Hannity, hit theaters October 27th. The touching film depicts the story of a self-described atheist whose near-death experience challenges his deeply held convictions about faith, family, and love.

“Liberal Hollywood has increasingly moved the bar, making simple and honest films with solid faith and family values harder to find,” Hannity told Variety in July.

“I felt compelled to start bringing quality films to the millions of forgotten Americans who want to see more of these heart-warming and entertaining stories that reflect our Judeo-Christian, all-American values," he added. "I’ve been honored to work with true talent like Kevin Sorbo, and I’m very proud of ‘Let There Be Light.'"
