New JFK Files Contain Explosive MLK Allegations

The government released 676 documents it said were related to the assassination of John F. Kennedy Friday—including a 20-page FBI file on Martin Luther King, Jr. The file, dated less than a month before the civil rights leader's April, 1968 assassination, claims King had close ties to the Communist Party and engaged in scandalous behavior including extramarital affairs, one of them with singer Joan Baez, the New York Daily News reports.

The file claims King engaged in "sexual aberrations" and says a minister who attended a training workshop in early 1968 was disgusted with the "behind-the-scene drinking, fornication, and homosexuality that went on at the conference."
