This Is The One 'Reputation' Song Taylor Swift's Parents Can't Listen To

By Emily Lee

After listening to reputation on repeat for two days straight, everybody can agree that one of the best songs on the album is track twelve. In addition to being pure pop perfection, "Dress" is Swift's first foray into blatantly sexy lyrics. As with every new thing Swift tries her hand at, the slow jam about wanting to cross the line from friendship to something more is accomplished with aplomb. While we're obviously loving this lustful new track, there are two people who might not be so on board with this song. Those two people are, of course. Swift's parents.

Scott and Andrea Swift, as InStyle reports, were left feeling slightly uncomfortable when "Dress" came on during one of their daughter's famous fan Secret Sessions. During the low-key reputation listening party, Swift's parents fled the room when the raunchy song started playing for the fans. Some Swifties took to Twitter to document the whole experience. Their accounts are hilarious and - for anybody who has ever had an awkward moment with their own parents - pretty relatable.

For those who haven't memorized every single lyric on all fifteen tracks off reputation - first of all, what are you even doing with your lives?! - you may be wondering what Swift says in the song that reportedly made her parents so uncomfortable that they had to leave the room. Well, the saucy lyrics really are everything:

Say my name and everything just stops /don't want you like a best friend/ Only bought this dress so you could take it off, take it off

She goes on to sing:

I'm spilling wine in the bathtub / You kiss my face and we're both drunk / Everyone thinks that they know us / But they know nothing about

And don't forget about this spicy section:

All of this silence and patience, pining and anticipation / My hands are shaking from holding back from you

The lyrics are amazing, obviously, but we can totally understand where Swift's parents are coming from. Swift, despite writing openly about her romantic relationships in her music, has kept the lyrics relatively PG over the years. "Dress" may just feature her most mature lyrics yet and we can sympathize with her parents for wanting to skip this track when they listen to reputation. They're only human, after all.
