American Head Charge Bassist Chad Hanks Dead at 46

It's sad when musicians you enjoy pass away. Definitely worse when one of those musicians is one of the founding members of one of your top 5 favorite bands. Founding member of @_ahcofficial_ Chad hanks passed away from terminal battle this weekend. Most of you probably don't know or care, and that's fine...but it definitely hit me hard..not only because he was from one of my favorite bands ever..but because out of all the bands I've ever seen live and gotten to hang with, I've always remembered Chad and the guys from AHC to be right up there as some of the best and most personable. I had the opportunity to meet them all on a handful of occasions..both 13 year old me and adult me were ecstatic..a few of them (chad included) claimed to have remembered me..which I was never reeaallly sure of..but I'd always hoped. Anyway.. Thanks for the memories American Head Charge. Thanks for the memories Chad💔. Rest easy. From one fan who will definitely miss you. #rip #chadhanks #americanheadcharge #ahc #Minnesotametal

American Head Charge bassist Chad Hanks has died at the age of 46.

It’s been reported that he had been battling a terminal illness over recent months.

The band’s former guitarist Ted Hallows said in a Facebook post: “Rest In Peace my friend. You will be missed and your music will live on forever. Thank you for making me a better guitarist and thank you for all the great memories we shared together. Love you man and won't ever forget you. RIP Chad.”

The band’s vocalist Cameron Heacock later posted a moving image on Facebook of him leaning over Hanks’ bed, with their foreheads touching.
