Deputies: Student Dies from Gunshot

Investigators say a student at Lake Minneola High School in Lake County died Tuesday morning from what appears to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities say the student, Seth Sutherland, was a senior at the high school.

Investigators say his body was found during a pre-planned fire drill.

According to Lake County authorities, Sutherland was in a separate area from other students, and had sent what may have been farewell notes via email.

Though officials say there was no active shooter situation at the school, local schools were placed on precautionary lockdown for a brief period.

School district officials said grief counselors were being made available to students.
