Fire Captain Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

A Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Captain is on paid sick leave following his arrest earlier this month in Boynton Beach.  

Police say A.J. O'Laughlin was pulled over in his pickup truck along South Federal Highway, after being spotted driving erratically, and refused to take a field sobriety test.  

The arresting officers said he smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech and glossy eyes.  The officers say O'Laughlin screamed profanities at them and insisted on being arrested.  

The arrest report shows that he later used the floor of a holding cell as a toilet and continued with the profanities.  

O'Laughlin was taken to the hospital.
