Prince Harry Reveals When He Knew Meghan Markle Was the One

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement on Monday, November 27, and during a romantic and adorable official photo call, Prince Harry informed ABC News of when he knew Meghan was the one. 

When a reporter asked if his proposal was romantic, Prince Harry, 33, joked: “Of course it was!” before commenting that he knew the Suits actress was the one “the first time we met.”

The royal popped the question to Meghan earlier this month with a custom designed three-stone diamond ring. Two of the stones are from his late mother Princess Diana’s collection. They were reportedly part of a brooch that once belonged to Princess Di. The third stone on her ring is from Botswana. 

Botswana holds significance for Harry, who often refers to the country as his "second home." 

"I first came in 1997, straight after my mum died," Harry has shared of Botswana's importance during his most formative years. "My dad told my brother and me we were going to Africa to get away from it all." 

The couple have also vacationed in Botswana.
