Katie Couric once claimed that Matt Lauer would touch her on the “ass” a lot during their longtime run on NBC’s Today show. Katie made the remark while playing the game Plead the Fifth on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live in 2012.
“You co-hosted the Today show with Matt Lauer for 15 years, whats Matt’s most annoying habit?” Andy asks Katie in the resurfaced clip.
Katie, who chose not to plead the fifth, answers: “He pinches me on the ass a lot.”
The clip has resurfaced following the shocking news that Lauer has been terminated from the Today show after more than 20 years.
Lauer’s co-host Savannah Guthrie revealed on Wednesday, November 29, that after receiving what NBC News President Andrew Lack called in a memo "a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace,” that NBC has decided to terminate the longtime anchor.
Savannah added that she was heartbroken for Lauer, calling him a "dear, dear friend,” but also for the alleged woman.
